Speaking of names

This was taken when the little one was 14 weeks old. I like this picture a whole lot. Steph and I are not totally set, but we think that Bobo's real name is going to be River. The meanings behind the name are numerous, but predominantly rooted in our (Steph and myself) shared experience of God's interaction with us: Gentle, strong, subtle, piercing, ever-changing, always-the-same, graceful, powerful. The particular image that always grabs me is that of a river as a place of peace and serenity, while at the same moment being a force that cuts through stone and is the source of life for people, plants, and animals.

Dear Gabe and Steph,

The blog is a great idea for sharing your photos, ultrasound images, and your entire amazing experience. River is an excellent choice for a name.

Steph, you may like this book, though it's definitely chick-lit.

Oh guys! I love the pictures - Steph, you are even cuter than I imagined. And River, what a beautiful name, and yes, he appears to be as adorable as can be. Thanks so much for sharing in your journey - can't wait to hear and see more!
